The Edge

I stand at the edge.
A looming decision
Presses into me.

Balanced precariously
I am dizzy, unsteady,
Swirling in emotions.

Tame encounters wild.
Familiar with uncertainty
Known meets unknown.

Risk spreads slowly out
Rattles through me.

White darts of sharp fear,
Fuse with unexpected joy.
They Knot and entwine
Flowing in anxious motion.

The past pulls me back.
Splits off in an instance
Propels me forwards.

I wonder will I fall or fly?
